Lyme Gala Ball in Melbourne 2013 - the first of many gala nights to follow in other states

In 2013, a Melbourne Lyme disease/Borreliosis sufferer’s family and friends decided to create an annual event that can be celebrated  anywhere in Australia.  It was an excuse to have good time, and raise spirits and funds for Lyme disease/Borreliosis research. Her group of friends got together and planned a most fantastic evening for the attendees at the local reception centre. The planning, marketing, organising took at least 6 month but it was one of the most enjoyable evenings for everyone.  The Melbourne Lyme Gala Ball was the first event that raised $50,000.00 for Lyme disease/Borreliosis research.  The opportunity/challenge can be taken up by anyone in any town or city in Australia.  The evening will provide an opportunity for sufferers with a positive purpose, a happy time for a worthwhile cause.

Lyme disease/Borreliosis can affect anyone in Australia and differential diagnosis is uncommon only through awareness and research can the sufferers can be diagnosed and treated appropriately..

Lyme disease is a great imitator so many  chronic  diseases can mimicked by  Lyme Disease/Borreliosis.
